Paramount is the is the longest functioning and only major studio that remains in Hollywood. With remarkable talent and executives Paramount was a leader in the entertainment industry from very early on. The company won their first Academy Award in 1927 for Best Picture, just one year after moving to their present studio lot. They pride themselves with the highest grossing movie of all time,<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0120338\/?ref_=nv_sr_1\" target=\"_blank\"><em> Titanic<\/em><\/a>. In 2011 Paramount broke a record in the film industry with six consecutive films bringing each bringing in a revenue over $100 million dollars at the box office. Last year marked Paramount\u2019s 100<sup>th<\/sup> year in the entertainment industry. Media conglomerate <a href=\"http:\/\/www.viacom.com\" target=\"_blank\">Viacom<\/a> owns Paramount Pictures. <a title=\"History of Paramount\" href=\"http:\/\/www.paramountstudios.com\/working-on-the-lot\/general-info\/history.html\" target=\"_blank\">[4]<\/a><a title=\"History of Paramount\" href=\"http:\/\/www.paramount.com\/100-years-paramount\/paramount-story\" target=\"_blank\">[5]<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>FINANCIALS<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">So far this year Paramount Pictures released 7 movies, with a $810 million dollar yearly gross. It is ranked number 6 behind Warner Bros, Universal, Buena Vista, Sony\/Columbia, and 20<sup>th<\/sup> Century Fox. As of November 2013, Paramount has a 8.9% market share, already surpassing 2012\u2019s results when Paramount was ranked number 7 with a 8.4% market share, a gross difference of $106 million dollars. After several quarters of declining revenue, Paramount Pictures had the best quarter yet with an 11% increase in revenue. <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt1408101\/?ref_=nv_sr_1\" target=\"_blank\">Star Trek Into Darkness<\/a><\/em> is Paramount\u2019s most successful movie of 2013, followed by<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0816711\/?ref_=nv_sr_1\" target=\"_blank\"><em> World War Z<\/em><\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt1046173\/\"><em>G.I. Joe:\u00a0<\/em><span style=\"color: #1b8be0\"><i>Retaliation<\/i><\/span><\/a>. Paramount is coming out with very classy and creative marketing and promotional ideas for this upcoming film. <a href=\"http:\/\/xfinity.comcast.net\/slideshow\/entertainment-holiday2013movies\/7\/\" target=\"_blank\">[12]<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right\">For instance, Paramount Pictures is teaming up with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dodge.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dodge Brand <\/a>in a humorous promotion contest for <em>Anchorman 2<\/em>. Fans will be able to win an all-new 2014 Dodge Durango\u00a0by going to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.funnyordie.com\" target=\"_blank\">funnyordie.com<\/a> to play <a href=\"http:\/\/www.funnyordie.com\/dodge\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cHands on Ron Burgundy&#8221;<\/a>. This contest tests fan\u2019s endurance and perseverance to see how many times they can touch Ron Burgundy.
