This fall, broadcast TV saw a lot of buzz over old and new programming. From the success of \u201c2 Broke Girls,\u201d \u201cNew Girl,\u201d and \u201cOnce Upon a Time\u201d to the failure of \u201cThe Playboy Club,\u201d NBC, CBS, ABC, and FOX have seen the highest of highs and the lowest of lows across the board.<\/p>\n

Employing more than 7,000 people worldwide, NBC produces hundreds of hours of programming a week and reaches viewers in more than 100 countries on six continents. NBC programs have been honored with nearly a thousand Emmy Awards (more than any other network) and more than 100 Peabody Awards..Source<\/a><\/p>\n
Primetime<\/strong><\/p>\n
NBC had a lot of new shows lined up for Fall 2011, take a look at this quick\u00a0<\/em>preview<\/a>.<\/p>\n
NEW SHOWS<\/strong><\/p>\n
Up All Night<\/span><\/a> premiered September 14, 2011 and won in the night\u2019s ratings<\/span><\/a>. In October, the series was granted full season orders<\/span><\/a>. \u00a0It\u2019s viewers<\/span><\/a>have since risen 20% and is now getting an upgrade to Thursday nights starting in January.<\/p>\n
Free Agents<\/span><\/a> premiered on September 14, 2011.\u00a0And despite what looked like a promising cast, starring Hank Azaria and Kathryn Hahn, the show was cancelled<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>after just 4 episodes due to low ratings.<\/p>\n
The Playboy Club<\/span><\/a> which premiered on September 20, 2011 was cancelled<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>after only 3 episodes due to continuous loss of viewers.\u00a0It was the fall\u2019s first cancellation<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
Whitney<\/span><\/a> Premiered on September 22, 2011 and was granted full season orders<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0There is controversy<\/span><\/a> on how long it will last though due to the questionable likeability of the character and the multi-camera format of the show.<\/p>\n
Prime Suspects<\/span><\/a> premiered on September 22, 2011.\u00a0Due to its low ratings, the show wasn\u2019t granted full season orders, but ordered 6 more scripts<\/span><\/a> instead hoping to get the show going back in October.\u00a0By November the show still was not improving in ratings and NBC announced it will be shutting down<\/span><\/a> and cancelled after finishing the 13 scheduled episodes.<\/p>\n
Grimm<\/span><\/a> premiered on October 28, 2011 and while the ratings have been nothing spectacular, they\u2019v e remained steady enough to receive full season orders<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
OLD SHOWS<\/strong><\/p>\n
Saturday Night Live<\/span><\/a> is in its 37th<\/sup> season.\u00a0Recent guest stars include Charlie Day<\/span><\/a> and Jason Segel<\/span><\/a>. The show was also received an Emmy nomination for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
Dateline<\/span><\/a> is in its 20th<\/sup> season<\/p>\n
Law & Order SVU<\/span><\/a> is in its 13th<\/sup> season. Actress Mariska Hargitay received an Emmy nomination for outstanding lead actress in a drama series<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
Biggest Loser<\/span><\/a> is in its 12th<\/sup> season.<\/p>\n
The Office<\/span><\/a>– Based off the original BBC comedy, The Office<\/span><\/a>is a \u201c fly-on-the wall docu-reality parody\u201d about modern day American office life.\u00a0After its seventh season lead male Steve Carell left the show leaving fans skeptic about the shows future.\u00a0Although there is no replacing Steve Carell\/Michael Scott, the show must go on for Season 8 of The Office<\/em>.\u00a0With almost all the episodes aired for 2011, the show certainly is not the same but does continue to do well in the ratings and maintain a loyal audience<\/span><\/a>. The show was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series<\/span><\/a> at the Emmys. Carell also received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy series<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
Chuck<\/span><\/a> is in its 5th<\/sup> season.<\/p>\n
Community<\/span><\/a>, although in its 3rd<\/sup> season, has been pulled from the mid-season schedule<\/span><\/a> to make room for 30 Rock<\/em> due to recent low ratings.<\/p>\n
Parks and Recreation<\/span><\/a> is in its 4th<\/sup> season and was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series<\/span><\/a> at the Emmys this year. Amy Poehler was also nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
Parenthood<\/span><\/a> is in its 3rd<\/sup> season.<\/p>\n
The Sing Off<\/span><\/a> is in its 3rd<\/sup> season.<\/p>\n
Harry\u2019s Law<\/span><\/a> is in its 2nd<\/sup> season. Actress Kathy Bates was nominated for outstanding lead actress in a drama series<\/span><\/a> at the 2011 Emmys.<\/p>\n

For the last decade though there has been a continuous decline in NBC\u2019s primetime ratings without affecting other programming<\/span><\/a> such as the \u201cToday\u201d show, \u201c Tonight\u201d show and \u201c Nightly News.\u201d\u00a0This is slowly starting to change though.<\/p>\n

Despite the continuous decline of NBC\u2019s primetime and now it\u2019s other programming, Sunday Night Football<\/span><\/a> continues to remain very strong and come out as #1 or #2 in the ratings<\/span><\/a> every week for Sunday nights.\u00a0At this point, it seems to be the only programming NBC has going for them.<\/p>\n

The Macy\u2019s Thanksgiving Day Parade<\/span><\/a> is always and a favorite tradition for American families to watch from home if they are not attending the actual event.\u00a0This year it did so well, the ratings<\/span><\/a> hit the highest they have been in 10 years!<\/p>\n
On December 6, 2011 NBC aired a Michael Bubl\u00e9 Christmas Special<\/span><\/a> with guest performances by Justin Beiber, Kellie Pickler, Thalia, The Puppini Sisters and Naturally 7.\u00a0Special guest appearances included Sesame Street\u2019s<\/em> Oscar the Grouch, and The Office\u2019s<\/em> Ed Helms.\u00a0Unfortunately, this failed to do as well in the ratings<\/span><\/a> as it\u2019s follow up programming The Biggest Loser<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The show opened to rave reviews<\/span><\/a> and brought an even larger audience than its predecessor, Two and a Half Men. A full season pickup<\/span><\/a> was announced October 5. The show has received a nomination for Favorite New TV Comedy<\/span><\/a> for the People\u2019s Choice Awards of 2012.<\/p>\n
Unforgettable<\/span><\/a> premiered September 20 at 10pm. With the popularity of Poppy Montgomery<\/span><\/a>, the show had a lot of high publicity. The show began with a particularly low rating but consistent rating for the fall season. A full season pickup<\/span><\/a> was announced on October 25. The show has received a nomination for Favorite New TV Drama<\/span><\/a> for the People\u2019s Choice Awards of 2012.<\/p>\n
Person of Interest<\/span><\/a> premiered September 22 at 9pm. The show received a large amount of buzz<\/span><\/a> due to producer\/director JJ Abrams<\/span><\/a> and star Michael Emerson<\/span><\/a>. But, like Unforgettable, had consistent fairly low ratings. A full season pickup<\/span><\/a> was announced on October 25. The show has received a nomination for Favorite New TV Drama<\/span><\/a> for the People\u2019s Choice Awards of 2012.<\/p>\n
A Gifted Man<\/span><\/a> premiered September 23 at 8pm. The show brought in a very low rating<\/span><\/a> and mixed overall reviews. This low rating has been consistent for the past 10 episodes. CBS has ordered more episodes<\/span><\/a> but there is no word as to whether or not the show will have a full season. The show has received a nomination for Favorite New TV Drama<\/span><\/a> for the People\u2019s Choice Awards of 2012.<\/p>\n
How to be a Gentleman<\/span><\/a> premiered September 29 at 8:30pm. The show aired three episodes in total. The show had received less than good reviews<\/span><\/a> so a cancellation was originally predicted. The show\u2019scancellation<\/span><\/a> was announced on October 8.<\/p>\n
OLD SHOWS<\/strong><\/p>\n
60 minutes<\/span><\/a> is currently in its 44th<\/sup> season . It is one of CBS\u2019 most prized programs.<\/p>\n
48 Hours Mystery<\/span><\/a> is currently in its 23rd<\/sup> season. It has been a part of the CBS family for a long time.<\/p>\n
Survivor<\/span><\/a> is in its 23rd<\/sup> season starting September 14. The show was nominated for three Emmys<\/span><\/a> this season including a win for Jeff Probst<\/span><\/a> for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
Amazing Race<\/span><\/a> is in its 19th<\/sup> season starting September 25. The show was nominated for seven Emmys<\/span><\/a> this season including a win for Outstanding Reality \u2013C ompetition Program<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation<\/span><\/a> is in its 12th<\/sup> season starting September 21. The show recently added Ted Danson<\/span><\/a> to its star studded line up. The show is nominated for one People\u2019s Choice Award<\/span><\/a> for 2012.<\/p>\n
CSI: Miami<\/span><\/a> is in its 10th<\/sup> season starting September 25. The show is well known for its leading character, Horatio Caine, played by David Caruso<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
Two and a Half Men<\/span><\/a> is in its 9th<\/sup> season starting September 19. The loss of Charlie Sheen<\/span><\/a> and the addition of Ashton Kutcher<\/span><\/a> brought about the highest rating the show has ever received. However, ratings have quickly gone down to their normal rate. The show was nominated for two Emmys<\/span><\/a> this season including a nomination for Jon Cryer<\/span><\/a> for Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series<\/span><\/a> for his portrayal of Alan Harper. The show is also nominated for a People\u2019s Choice Award<\/span><\/a> for 2012.<\/p>\n
NCIS<\/span><\/a> is in its 9th<\/sup> season starting September 20. The show continues to be the highest ranked show that CBS has to offer. It is also consistently ranked number 2 overall<\/span><\/a> for the fall season. The show is also nominated for a People\u2019s Choice Award<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
CSI: New York<\/span><\/a> is in its 8th<\/sup> season starting September 23. Starting its second season with Sela Ward<\/span><\/a>, the show has received mixed buzz but a solid following. The show was nominated for one Emmy<\/span><\/a> this season.<\/p>\n
How I met your mother<\/span><\/a> is in its 7th<\/sup> season starting September 19. This show was nominated for five Emmys<\/span><\/a> this season. The show is also nominated for two People\u2019s Choice Awards<\/span><\/a> for 2012.<\/p>\n
Criminal Minds<\/span><\/a> is in its 7th<\/sup> season starting September 21. The show has kept a solid following since its premiere in 2006 with its intensity as a crime show drama. The show is also nominated for a People\u2019s Choice Award<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
Rules of Engagement<\/span><\/a> is in its 6th<\/sup> season starting September 24. The shows stars comedic genius, David Spade<\/span><\/a>, a key factor in the shows success.<\/p>\n
Big Bang Theory<\/span><\/a> is in its 5th<\/sup> season starting September 22. The show was nominated for five Emmys<\/span><\/a> this season, one of which included a win for Jim Parsons<\/span><\/a> for Leading Actor in a Comedy Series<\/span><\/a> for his portrayal of Sheldon Cooper. Revenge<\/span><\/a> premiered on September 21. Ratings, despite decreasing during the hour, were solid and placed the show in the number one<\/span><\/a> spot for its timeslot. Ratings<\/span><\/a> have continued to decrease, with some fluctuation, throughout the season<\/span><\/a> despite positive buzz<\/span><\/a> from both critics<\/span><\/a> and viewers<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0ABC never the less picked up nine more episodes of the show, giving it a full 22-episode season<\/span><\/a>. The show is nominated for a People\u2019s Choice Award<\/span><\/a> in the \u201cFavorite New TV Drama\u201d category.<\/p>\n
Charlie\u2019. . s Angels<\/span><\/a>\u2019 debut on September 22 earned decent ratings<\/span><\/a>. The buzz<\/span><\/a> around the show prior to its premiere was mostly negative with words such as \u201cold\u201d and \u201cwon\u2019t last\u201d often used to describe it. More negative buzz surrounded the show after it aired, which reflected in its decreasing ratings<\/span><\/a>. ABC ultimately cancelled<\/span><\/a> it, a decision many fans expected<\/span><\/a>. The last episode of Charlie\u2019s Angels aired on November 10 and had the lowest ratings of the series<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
The premiere<\/span><\/a> of Pan Am<\/span><\/a> was on September 25. Despite decreasing ratings<\/span><\/a> and mixed<\/span><\/a>\u00a0reviews<\/span><\/a>, ABC ordered five additional scripts<\/span><\/a> but recently announced it was only producing one<\/span><\/a> and airing the last five episodes in 2012.\u00a0Karine Vanasse who plays Collette, a French flight attendant, on the show sent a Tweet<\/span><\/a> that led many fans to believe the show was cancelled. ABC responded<\/span><\/a> later that day, saying that it was not cancelling it. The show is nominated for a People\u2019s Choice Award<\/span><\/a> in the \u201cFavorite New TV Drama\u201d category.<\/p>\n
Suburgatory<\/span><\/a> debuted on Wednesday, September 28. Despite having little buzz<\/span><\/a>, the comedy\u2019s premiere was well received<\/span><\/a> and the ratings<\/span><\/a>, although fluctuating, have continued to be good. ABC gave it a full season order<\/span><\/a> and recently cast Robin Givens from Chuck as Dallas\u2019 rival from college<\/span><\/a> in an episode. The show will return to the network on January 4.\u00a0The show is nominated for a People\u2019s Choice Award<\/span><\/a> in the \u201cFavorite New TV Comedy\u201d category.<\/p>\n
Last Man Standing<\/span><\/a>, out of all the new shows this season, received the most buzz<\/span><\/a> with words such as \u201ccan\u2019t wait\u201d and excited\u201d often used to describe it. The show\u2019s one-hour premiere on October 11 was ABC\u2019a a s most-watched premiere<\/span><\/a> for a comedy series in the 8 pm timeslot in four years. Amid mixed<\/span><\/a>\u00a0reviews<\/span><\/a>, the network ordered nine additional episodes of the sitcom, giving it a full season order<\/span><\/a>. Nick Jonas<\/span><\/a> recently guest starred on the show\u2019s Christmas episode. The show is nominated for a People\u2019s Choice Award<\/span><\/a> in the \u201cFavorite New TV Comedy\u201d category.<\/p>\n
Man Up<\/span><\/a> premiered on October 18. With negative<\/span><\/a>\u00a0reviews<\/span><\/a> and decreasing ratings<\/span><\/a>, ABC has ordered no additional episodes<\/span><\/a> of the comedy. The network intends to run the remaining episodes until the premiere of Work It airs on January 3. The network has not officially cancelled<\/span><\/a> the show but has left it off the midseason schedule. Women\u2019s Media Center<\/span><\/a>, as part of the Sexy or Sexism? Campaign<\/span><\/a>, started an online petition<\/span><\/a> to have ABC cancel Man Up. The petition has 751 signatures thus far. The show is nominated for a People\u2019s Choice Award<\/span><\/a> in the \u201cFavorite New TV Comedy\u201d category.<\/p>\n
Despite premiering a month into the fall season, Once Upon A Time<\/span><\/a> \u2018s debut had the highest ratings<\/span><\/a> of any drama premiere this fall. Buzz<\/span><\/a> around the show had been positive and after it premiered, both viewers<\/span><\/a> and critics<\/span><\/a> gave it mostly rave reviews. The network ordered a full-season<\/span><\/a> of the show after only airing two episodes.Ratings<\/span><\/a> for the show although dropping, remain strong. The show is nominated for a People\u2019s Choice Award<\/span><\/a> in the \u201cFavorite New TV Drama\u201d category.<\/p>\n

The show\u2019s ratings<\/span><\/a> continued to decrease until its lead-in Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was replaced with Once Upon A Time. Although ratings have increased, they are still down from the previous years.<\/p>\n
Season eight of Grey\u2019m m s Anatomy<\/span><\/a> aired on Thursday September 22. The series experienced its lowest ratings ever<\/span><\/a> and had its fall finale on November 11. The second half of Grey\u2019s Anatomy will premiere this January.\u00a0The show and is nominated for a People\u2019i i s Choice Award<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
The Middle<\/span><\/a>, currently in its third season, had the highest ratings for the series ever during its premiere on September 21. Although there were some fluctuations, ratings have generally been up and continue to be higher than the previous season\u2019s .<\/p>\n
Modern Family<\/span><\/a> had its highest ratings<\/span><\/a> of the series yet during the third season opener. The show also won all five of the Emmy awards<\/span><\/a> it was nominated for at the 63rd<\/sup> Annual Emmy awards, including the awards for Outstanding Comedy Series. The show\u2019s ratings, although decreasing, are higher than the previous season\u2019s. The show is nominated for a People\u2019s Choice Award<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
Now in its fourth season, Castle<\/span><\/a>\u2019s season premiere was the series\u2019 best-rated season opener<\/span><\/a> to date. Its ratings have continued to drop since then, with some fluctuation. The show is nominated for a People\u2019s Choice Award<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
Private Practice<\/span><\/a>\u2019s fifth season premiere on September 29 was the series\u2019\ufffd \ufffd lowest rated premiere<\/span><\/a> yet. The two-hour fall finale was on November 17. The show returns to ABC on Thursday January 5.<\/p>\n

Dancing with the Stars<\/span><\/a>\u2019 thirteenth season premiered on September 19.<\/strong> Ratings<\/span><\/a> for both the premiere and results show were down from the previous years and continued to decrease, with some fluctuation.<\/strong> The final results show on Tuesday November 22 where Iraq war veteran J.R Martinez was announced the winner was the lowest rated fall finale<\/span><\/a> for the entire series. The show is nominated for a People\u2019s Choice Award<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
Here is the current primetime schedule<\/span><\/a>for ABC.<\/p>\n
Daytime Programming<\/strong><\/p>\n
Decreased ratings for soap operas<\/span><\/a>along with the changing viewing patterns<\/span><\/a> of the daytime viewer have prompted ABC to focus its daytime programming around lifestyle, food and personal transformation. As a result, ABC cancelled All My Children and One Life to Live.<\/p>\n
The series finale of All My Children<\/span><\/a> premiered on September 23 at 1 pm and attracted its largest audience<\/span><\/a> in four and a half years. The soap opera originally aired on January 5, 1970 on ABC and began the careers of such actors and actresses as Sarah Michelle Gellar, Christian Slater and Michelle Trachtenberg.<\/p>\n
One Life to Live<\/span><\/a>\u2019s series finale is in January 2012. The Revolution<\/span><\/a>, a show more in line with the new premise of ABC daytime programming, will replace it. It is currently the top three<\/span><\/a> daytime programs among women 18-49.<\/p>\n
Prospect Park acquired the licensing rights<\/span><\/a> from ABC to both One life to Live and All My Children in July with the intent to continue producing the soaps in an online format after their series finales. On November 23, the deal fell through and Prospect Park releaseda statement<\/span><\/a> \u00a0saying that the lack of cooperation between those involved and \u201ceconomic challenges\u201d led to the overall decision to not bring the classic shows to the Internet.<\/p>\n
Currently in its forty-ninth season, General Hospital<\/span><\/a> is among the top five<\/span><\/a> daytime programs among women 18-49.<\/p>\n
The Chew<\/span><\/a> features five unique co-hosts who \u201cexplore life through food\u201d and discuss topics including cooking, food trends, home entertainment, restaurants, holidays, etc. The show, which replaced All My Children, premiered<\/span><\/a> on September 26.<\/p>\n
The View<\/span><\/a>, which first premiered on August 11, 1997, recently had Martha Stewart<\/span><\/a> and President Bill Clinton<\/span><\/a> on the show.<\/p>\n

A Very Gaga Thanksgiving<\/span><\/a>, which aired on November 24, featured an intimate performance<\/span><\/a> by Lady Gaga and interview with Katie Couric. The special\u2019s ratings<\/span><\/a> increased from last year\u2019s airing of Beyonce\u2019s I am World Tour.<\/p>\n

Although the ratings take small dips<\/span><\/a>every now and then, everyone seems to be genuinely charmed by Zooey Deschanel and the New Girl. The show is also nominated for a 2012 People’s Choice Awards<\/span><\/a>in the Favorite New TV Comedy<\/span><\/a>category.<\/p>\n
The X Factor<\/span><\/a>\u00a0premiered on September 21st<\/sup>. This much buzzed about show was inevitably compared<\/span><\/a> to FOX\u2019s spring talent show: American Idol. Most reviews<\/span><\/a> could not find any difference between it and other talent shows, although one commonly suggested major downfall<\/span><\/a> is the host: Steve Jones. However, the ratings<\/span><\/a> for The X Factor are doing well and FOX gave it a second season<\/span><\/a>, though some changes and swaps<\/span><\/a> in judges and host may be in the works.<\/p>\n
Terra Nova<\/span><\/a>aired for the first time on September 26, 2011.\u00a0Early buzz<\/span><\/a>\u00a0showed promising reviews and great potential. However, later in the season, critics are worrying about the up<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and down<\/span><\/a>ratings. This show may be in danger of cancellation and has not yet been signed to a second season. Allen Gregory<\/span><\/a>\u00a0aired on October 30, 2011. The critic<\/span><\/a>and viewer<\/span><\/a>reviews for this have proven to be less than satisfactory. The ratings<\/span><\/a>have been down consistently and since FOX ordered just seven episodes<\/span><\/a>of this show, with its final installment ending on December 11th<\/sup>, unfortunately recent news indicates that the show has been cancelled<\/span><\/a>. However, Allen Gregory is up for a 2012 People’s Choice Awards<\/span><\/a>in the Favorite New TV Comedy<\/span><\/a>category.<\/p>\n
I Hate My Teenage Daughter<\/span><\/a>\u00a0premiered on November 30th<\/sup> .With only one show under its belt; the reviews<\/span><\/a>have been slightly negative<\/span><\/a>. The ratings<\/span><\/a>were decent for the first show; but the second episode brought ratings down significantly<\/span><\/a>. The fate of this show is definitely wavering.<\/p>\n
OLD SHOWS<\/strong><\/p>\n
America’s Most Wanted<\/span><\/a>is the grandfather of FOX network TV with 24 seasons but was cancelled<\/span><\/a>earlier this year due to lack of profit. Fans of the show protested<\/span><\/a>with the intent of getting someone to rescue the show. Lifetime<\/span><\/a>decided to pick up the show and began airing episodes on December 2nd<\/sup>, 2011.<\/p>\n
COPS<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is one of FOX\u2019s longest running series with the start of its 24th<\/sup> season in fall 2011. Ratings<\/span><\/a>are down<\/span><\/a>from last year\u2019s premier episode.<\/p>\n
The Simpsons<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is in its twenty third season and was nominated<\/span><\/a>for Outstanding Animated Program at this year\u2019s Emmy Awards. The amount of viewers for this show are usually constantly high. Between the premier<\/span><\/a>in September and the latest<\/span><\/a>show to air, there has been a dip in viewership. FOX almost cancelled<\/span><\/a>the show before the start of this season due to budget disputes between FOX and the show\u2019s talent. However, the issue was settled and FOX has already renewed The Simpsons through its twenty fifth season<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
Family Guy<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is currently in its tenth season on FOX. It was nominated four times at this year\u2019s Emmy awards: 2 nominations in the Outstanding Music Composition For a Series (Original Dramatic Score)<\/span><\/a>category, and one nomination in each of these two categories: Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics<\/span><\/a>and Outstanding Sound Mixing for A Comedy or Drama Series (half hour and animation)<\/span><\/a>. Ratings and viewership have dropped<\/span><\/a>since the show\u2019s premier<\/span><\/a>in September. Renewal plans after this season have yet to be determined.<\/p>\n
House<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is in its eighth season on Fox. The lead actor, Hugh Laurie<\/span><\/a>, was nominated for an Emmy as Lead Actor in a Drama Series<\/span><\/a>for his character Dr. Gregory House, but he did not win the award. House is currently number two<\/span><\/a>on the Broadcast TV show listings.<\/p>\n
Bones<\/span><\/a>\u00a0started its seventh season this fall. It was not nominated for any Emmys this year, but ratings have been up<\/span><\/a>and down, and are now pretty steady<\/span><\/a>. Even so, there is some worry about whether it will be renewed<\/span><\/a>for an eighth season.<\/p>\n
American Dad<\/span><\/a>!Is in its seventh season and it is not yet determined whether it will be renewed for an eighth season. The ratings and viewership have declined<\/span><\/a>since the premier<\/span><\/a>of the show in September.<\/p>\n
Kitchen Nightmares<\/span><\/a>is in its fifth season on FOX. The ratings have been almost steady and consistent from its premier<\/span><\/a>to its latest show<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
Fringe<\/span><\/a>\u00a0began fall 2011 with its fourth season. This show received no Emmy nominations<\/span><\/a>this year and its ratings are the lowest<\/span><\/a>that the show has seen in all four seasons. Viewership is way down, causing many people to wonder whether Fringe will not be returning<\/span><\/a>for a fifth season.<\/p>\n
The Cleveland Show<\/span><\/a>\u00a0began its third season on FOX with an Emmy nomination<\/span><\/a>for Outstanding Animated Program. The ratings have declined<\/span><\/a>somewhat since its premier<\/span><\/a>in September. However, FOX has already announced that it will renew it for a fourth season<\/span><\/a>for the 2012-2013 year.<\/p>\n
Glee<\/span><\/a>is in its third season and was nominated<\/span><\/a>for ten Emmys this year; some include:\u00a0Outstanding Comedy Series<\/span><\/a>, casting<\/span><\/a> and costuming<\/span><\/a>. It won in the casting category and for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy<\/span><\/a>. Since the beginning<\/span><\/a>of the season, Glee\u2019s ratings have been down<\/span><\/a>and more recently, slightly higher<\/span><\/a>. This season has already had one major controversy<\/span><\/a>where the sexual content of the teen show is being criticized once again.<\/p>\n
Raising Hope<\/span><\/a>\u00a0began its second season with an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series<\/span><\/a>, but did not win. The ratings<\/span><\/a>have steadily declined over the last few months but remains in the top ten for its category. The show is not yet cancelled but low ratings<\/span><\/a>have many wondering whether it will be around for a third season.<\/p>\n

The 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards<\/span><\/a>\u00a0premiered on September 18th<\/sup>, 2011. This is the biggest event for network television. With the\u00a0nominees and winners<\/span><\/a>, the major networks were able to see which of their shows and actors were doing well. The facts and figures<\/span><\/a> show how all shows have been doing for the past few years, including 2011. Unfortunately, when it came to viewer ratings<\/span><\/a>, Sunday Night football was able to beat them in the numbers.<\/p>\n
The American Country Awards<\/span><\/a>premiered on December 5th<\/sup>, 2011. Season four American Idol<\/span><\/a>winner Carrie Underwood<\/span><\/a>was a frequent name among the winners<\/span><\/a>\u00a0for this second annual show and a performance by last year\u2019s American Idol winner Scotty McCreery<\/span><\/a>added to the event. Ratings<\/span><\/a>\u00a0for the FOX special showed a significant increase<\/span><\/a>\u00a0from last year.<\/p>\n
