They have produced films such as <em>Saving Private Ryan<\/em>, <em>Dinner for Schmucks<\/em>, and <em>The Help<\/em>. An agreement with <a title=\"Walt Disney Studios Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Walt_Disney_Studios_%28Burbank%29\" target=\"_blank\">The Walt Disney Studios<\/a> administers Disney the duty of marketing and distributing the films worldwide. <a title=\"Dreamworks History\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dreamworksstudios.com\/about\/history\" target=\"_blank\">[1]<\/a>\u00a0DreamWorks was originally founded by <a title=\"Steven Speilberg Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steven_Spielberg\" target=\"_blank\">Steven Spielberg<\/a>, <a title=\"Jeffery Katzenberg Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jeffrey_Katzenberg\" target=\"_blank\">Jeffrey Katzenberg<\/a>, and <a title=\"David Geffen Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/David_Geffen\" target=\"_blank\">David Geffen<\/a> in 1994. The first Initial of their last names form the SKG at the bottom of the DreamWorks logo. In the fall of 2004, <a title=\"DreamWorks Animation Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/DreamWorks_Animation\" target=\"_blank\">DreamWorks Animations<\/a> (DWA) separated from DreamWorks Studios and became its own production company and had <a title=\"Paramount Pictures Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Paramount_Pictures\" target=\"_blank\">Paramount Pictures<\/a> distribute the animated films. Jeffery Katzenberg became the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DreamWorks Animations.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 186px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_d3Tzjzhz9V8\/TBa_0U9LvzI\/AAAAAAAAA00\/rqb_Gw4PifY\/s1600\/skg.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"  \" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_d3Tzjzhz9V8\/TBa_0U9LvzI\/AAAAAAAAA00\/rqb_Gw4PifY\/s1600\/skg.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"176\" height=\"221\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Founders of DreamWorks (from left to right: Steven Spielberg, Jeffery Katzenberg, David Geffen)<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Steven Spielberg is now the Principal Partner of DreamWorks Studios along side Stacey Snider, who joined the studio in 2009. Snider also holds the title of Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DreamWorks Studios.<a title=\"Dreamworks Executive Stacey Snider\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dreamworksstudios.com\/about\/executives\/stacey-snider\" target=\"_blank\">[2]<\/a> These jobs entitle Snider to have responsibility over the financial and creative aspects of film development and production.\u00a0 Jeff Small was hired in 2006 to be the President and Chief Operating Officer of DreamWorks Studios.<a title=\"Dreamworks Executive Jeff Small\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dreamworksstudios.com\/about\/executives\/jeff-small\" target=\"_blank\">[3]<\/a> He is in charge of the business operations of the production company. Holly Bario and Mark Sourian are the Co-Presidents of Production.<a title=\"Dreamworks Executive Holly Bario\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dreamworksstudios.com\/about\/executives\/holly-bario\" target=\"_blank\">[4]<\/a><a title=\"DreamWorks Executive Mark Sourian\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dreamworksstudios.com\/about\/executives\/mark-sourian\" target=\"_blank\">[5]<\/a> They manage the list of films to be produced. DreamWorks is headquartered in University City, California.<\/p>\n<h1 id=\"heading2\" style=\"text-align: left\">Right Here, Right Now<\/h1>\n<h1 id=\"#heading7\">Finances<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><a title=\"Reliance Entertainment Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Reliance_Entertainment\" target=\"_blank\">Reliance Entertainment<\/a> has agreed to continue financing DreamWorks on their films.<a title=\"Reliance Entertainment Finances DreamWorks\" href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/news\/dreamworks-secures-additional-funding-reliance-310123\" target=\"_blank\">[6]<\/a> Originally they had funded DreamWorks $325 million to produce four to six movies a year but after box office flops like <em>Cowboys and Aliens<\/em> Reliance became weary. DreamWorks will proceed but now producing three to five movies a year with their new lower budget from Reliance. In order to make higher budgeted films they will have to find co-partners who will agree to fund them in their endeavors<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Due to the lower budget DreamWorks is redesigning their production schedule. Physical Production Executive Steve Molen from DreamWorks resigned because he knew that most of the people in his department would get laid off. They fired 10 out of the 80 DreamWorks employees. They are still looking to make cuts in their legal, insurance, and IT departments.<a title=\"DreamWorks Lays Off 10 Employees\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/news\/dreamworks-layoffs-stacey-snider-steve-molen-312009\" target=\"_blank\">[7]<\/a> This year they will only produce two movies, <em>Lincoln<\/em> and <em>People Like Us<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h1 id=\"heading5\" style=\"text-align: left\">Teaming up with Fox<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">On January 23rd, 2012 DreamWorks announced that <a title=\"Twentieth Centruy Fox Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/20th_Century_Fox\" target=\"_blank\">Twentieth Century Fox<\/a> will be partnering with DreamWorks to co-finance two of DreamWorks next films that are projected to be released in the future.<a title=\"Fox Partnering with DreamWorks\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dreamworksstudios.com\/news\/fox-partnering-with-dreamworks-on-steven-spielbergs-lincoln\" target=\"_blank\">[8]<\/a> One of the movies, which will be released in 2012, is <em>Lincoln<\/em>, which is a biographical drama about the life of one of America&#8217;s beloved presidents Abraham Lincoln. The film is based off a biography of Lincoln written by Dorris Kearn Goodwin. Daniel Day Lewis is to play the starring role, Abraham Lincoln. Disney will still be distributing the film along with Fox will distribute internationally. Fox will also partner with DreamWorks on the making of their movie <em>Robopocalyspe<\/em>.<a title=\"Hollywood Reporter on Robopocalyspe\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/news\/fox-dreamworks-finance-steven-spielbergs-231985\" target=\"_blank\">[9]<\/a> Set to premiere around the world on July 3rd, 2013, this film is about the fate of the human race after following a robot revolution.<\/p>\n<h1 id=\"heading6\" style=\"text-align: left\">Movie Remakes<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">DreamWorks Studios is working with <a title=\"Working Title Films Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Working_Title_Films\" target=\"_blank\">Working Title Films<\/a> and famous British scribe <a title=\"Steven Knight Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steven_Knight\" target=\"_blank\">Steven Knight<\/a> to remake Alfred Hitchcock&#8217;s classic mystery <em>Rebecca<\/em>.<a title=\"DreamWorks remakes Rebecca\" href=\"http:\/\/www.variety.com\/article\/VR1118050011\" target=\"_blank\">[10]<\/a> The movie is about a naive young woman who marries a male widower and discovers that the death of his first wife has a left a lasting effect on the manor.This was the only movie written by Alfred Hitchcock that received an Award (Academy Award for Best Motion Picture). The original was based on a book with the same title wirtten by Daphne Du Maurier in 1938.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">StarBuck is a French Canadian film that was came out in 2011.<a title=\"Chicago Tribune on Starbuck\" href=\"http:\/\/articles.chicagotribune.com\/2012-04-23\/entertainment\/sns-201204231545reedbusivarietynvr1118052992apr23_1_starbuck-direct-comedy-pic\" target=\"_blank\">[11]<\/a> The film has been released internationally in Spain, France, Belgium, New Zealand and the Netherlands. IT has won the audience award at some international film festivals. The movie is about a man who discovers that he has fathered 533 children through sperm donations. About a 100 of them decide that they would like to start a connection with him and he must choose if he will step up to the plate or not. DreamWorks will be working with the original film-making team Ken Scott, Director, and Andr\u00e9 Rouleau, Producer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Z2MD0qJkWzU\">Official Trailer for Original Starbuck[12]<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">DreamWork&#8217;s film <em>People Like Us<\/em> is going to have its first showing in movie theaters on June 29th, 2012. It is a movie about a twenty something year old man whose latest deal puts him in a huge amount of debt. His father dies leaving him $150,000 to give to a sister that he never knew he had. Now he must make the decision to keep the money or give it to its rightful owner. In order to promote this movie, DreamWorks is partnering with <a title=\"Sprinkle Cupcakes Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sprinkles_Cupcakes\" target=\"_blank\">Sprinkle Cupcakes<\/a> and having different events at the ten different store location around the country.<a title=\"DreamWorks and Sprinkle Cupcakes\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/id\/47180555\/DreamWorks_Pictures_People_Like_Us_and_Sprinkles_Cupcakes_Celebrate_Family_Events_Launch_on_Brothers_and_Sisters_Day_May_2nd\" target=\"_blank\">[13]<\/a> The promotion starts on May 2nd and lasts up until the release of the movie on June 29th. The events at the stores will be focused on the national holidays: Brothers and Sisters Day (May 2), Mother&#8217;s Day (May13), Visit your Relative&#8217;s Day (May 18), Fathers Day (June 17), and National Forgiveness Day (June 26).
