History<\/span><\/h1>\n

Founded by Marcus Lamb in 1997, Daystar Television is a TV network that brings religious (specifically Christian) programming to millions of television sets around the world. It all started in 1993, when Lamb and his Word of God Fellowship ministry bought a UHF station in Dallas, Texas. From there, he continued to grow the network, and on new years eve in 1997, officially launched Daystar Television Network. Since then, it has tripled in size, and its broadcast signal now reaches 200 countries and 670 million households globally. [4]<\/span><\/p>\n

Mike Huckabee appeared on Daystar Television Network\u2019s popular show, \u2018Joni.’ On the show, Huckabee and Joni Lamb, the host, fielded calls from Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Rick Perry, and Rick Santorum. Daystar TV has launched a live stream of its programming to all Apple iOS devices. The live stream has already been very popular on their website for several years. The week long program \u201cMarriage\u201d returns to Daystar for a second year. The show centers around giving people advice on marriage and how to strengthen their marriages, and is hosted by Bishop T.D. Jakes. Marcus Lamb, Daystar\u2019s president and founder, emphasizes the point that your marriage does not need to be in trouble for you to get something out of the program. It is there for those whose marriage is in trouble, as well as those whose marriage is great but are just looking for some tips on how to keep it there. Special guests also appear on the show, such as Jimmy Evans and Doug Weiss. [17]<\/span><\/p>\n

Daystar Television has wrapped up one of the most successful Sharathon campaigns in the network\u2019s history last week, as it accumulated a total number of 67, 270 pledges. The Sharathon funds the ministry side of Daystar, as well as other ministries across the globe. In recent years, Daystar has donated over 63 million dollars to other ministries. [20]<\/span><\/p>\n

Daystar Television will broadcast two easter presentations; one on Wednesday, April 4th, at noon, 9 PM, and 1AM, and on the following Friday at the same times. For the Wednesday showing, the Fort Lauderdale First Baptist Church will be shown, with both a choir and orchestra. For the Friday presentation, Thorn Productions will show their production of “The Thorn,” a demonstration of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. [21]<\/span><\/p>\n
