Fox appears to be giving an extra boost to its new comedy drama series \u201cRosewood\u201d by having it lead into \u201cEmpire\u201d. However, not only will \u201cRosewood\u201d be the opener to \u201cEmpire,\u201d but it has also taken \u201cEmpire\u2019s\u201d original 8pm Wednesday slot. Much of Fox\u2019s success with \u201cEmpire\u201d have been due to the networks extensive and early promos for the show starting as far back as May, right after the show was picked up. Furthermore, Slate Magazine claims, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/blogs\/browbeat\/2015\/03\/19\/the_empire_effect_what_we_ve_learned_from_its_phenomenal_first_season.html\">\u201cFox also took things a step further by capping each of\u00a0<em>Empire<\/em>\u2019s first ten episodes with an extended, 90-second teaser touting coming attractions\u2014not just for the next week\u2019s episode (standard practice), but for the entire season to come,<\/a>\u201d which gave \u201cEmpire\u201d a leg up to it\u2019s competitors. Slate magazine predicts Fox will thrive off of &#8220;Empire&#8217;s&#8221; success and apply it&#8217;s innovative structure to future series in what it calls &#8220;The Empire Effect&#8221;. Thus, I will be interested to see if \u201cRosewood\u201d follows in \u201cEmpire\u2019s\u201d innovative promotional efforts during its first season. \u201cRosewood\u201d has already followed \u201cEmpire\u2019s\u201d footsteps with early promotions starting as soon as May 7<sup>th <\/sup>2015, right after Fox announced that the series had been picked up.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Rosewood&#8221; premieres\u00a0next Wednesday night at 8pm on Fox!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Whenever one reads an article about Fox\u2019s upcoming series \u201cRosewood,\u201d the popular series \u201cEmpire\u201d will most likely be discussed alongside the new series.
