Although a positive 4.4% ratings increase from W3 to W4,\u00a0The Grinder<\/em><\/a>\u00a0takes five steps back after\u00a0<\/em>dropping a whopping 14% in ratings after last night\u2019s aired episode. As mentioned last week, the show is secured for one season, but can we place hope in a season 2? Looking at the big picture, let\u2019s compare The Grinder\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>numbers with\u00a0<\/em>Fox\u2019s<\/a> previous season\u2019s 8:30 PM time slot program,\u00a0New Girl.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

The Grinder- Ratings <\/a><\/p><\/div>\n

From the start,\u00a0New Girl <\/em><\/a>ratings\u00a0topped\u00a0The Grinder\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>numbers\u00a0in the first episode by .2, but by the second episode, both programs noticed a significant drop in viewership numbers. By the fourth and fifth week, both shows exhibit parallel ratings with a slight increase on the fourth week, and a downward turn by the fifth week.\u00a0New Girl<\/a>\u00a0<\/em> finished with a 1.6 share in\u00a0A1849 and secured a fifth season with FOX<\/a>.
