{"id":3064,"date":"2017-09-07T02:59:15","date_gmt":"2017-09-07T02:59:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bejone03.expressions.syr.edu\/trf594\/?p=3064"},"modified":"2017-09-26T23:59:03","modified_gmt":"2017-09-26T23:59:03","slug":"the-good-doctor-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bejone03.expressions.syr.edu\/trf594\/2017\/09\/07\/the-good-doctor-1\/","title":{"rendered":"The Good Doctor #1 &#8211; The Landscape"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ABC\u2019s got the new hit of this fall, which will premiere on Monday, September 25<sup>th<\/sup> at 10 pm with \u2018Dancing with the Stars\u2019 as its lead-in. <a href=\"http:\/\/abc.go.com\/shows\/the-good-doctor\">\u2018The Good Doctor\u2019<\/a> is based on a Korean soap-opera, and follows the life of <a href=\"http:\/\/abc.go.com\/shows\/the-good-doctor\/cast\/dr-shaun-murphy\">Shaun Murphy<\/a>, a surgeon with autism and savant syndrome, who joins a prestigious hospital\u2019s surgical unit.<\/p>\n<p>The show will be produced by \u2018House\u2019 creator, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0794914\/\">David Shore<\/a>, along with \u2018Hawaii Five-0\u2019 star, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0196654\/?ref_=nv_sr_1\">Daniel Dae Kim<\/a>. During the previous fall season, ABC bought the rights with a pilot commitment, which was ordered on January, and later <a href=\"http:\/\/deadline.com\/2017\/05\/the-good-doctor-medical-drama-picked-up-series-abc-freddie-highmore-1202090724\/\">picked up to series<\/a> in May.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The Good Doctor\u2019 goes in line with the ABC\u2019s target audience, young and female, and its diverse appeal. Fans and critics have already built a connection to \u2018Grey\u2019s Anatomy\u2019 even though ABC itself has not.
