The show lost more than half of its lead-in audience from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt5420376\/\"><em>Riverdale<\/em><\/a>, with just 1.3 million viewers and 0.3 rating for the 18-49 demographic. While this would normally be problematic for a network, this is not the case with the CW. Unlike the big 3 television networks, CW is operated as a limited liability joint venture between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbscorporation.com\/\">CBS Corporation<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.warnerbros.com\/studio\/divisions\/warner-bros-entertainment-inc\">Warner Brothers Entertainment<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbscorporation.com\/people\/leslie-moonves\/\">Leslie Moonves<\/a>, head of CBS Corporation, explained the advantages that <em>Dynasty <\/em>has due to owning of all of the network\u2019s content. A <a href=\"http:\/\/tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com\/renewcancel\/cancel-bear-vs-the-cw-week-3-dynastys-slow-start-wont-matter\/\">TV By The Number article<\/a> shows that he stated, \u201cwe own 100 percent of the show, and we\u2019ve already licensed it to Netflix in 188 countries\u2026 So this means \u2018Dynasty\u2019 is profitable before it even hits the air\u201d. Leslie and the other chief executives acknowledge the low ratings but they are still confident that <em>Dynasty <\/em>will be profitable from other media platforms. A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/review\/dynasty-review-1047469\">Hollywood Reporter<\/a> TV review criticized certain aspects of the pilot such as that it failed to portray the glamorous lifestyle from the original series.
