The show received an average 2.4 rating in adults 18-49 with 13.29 viewers.\u00a0The show slipped in numbers since the premier (3.8 in 18-49 and 17.28 viewers) but still remains strong. With seven day returns included in the numbers of the pilot episode, it earned an average 5.5 rating for adults 18-49 and has been watched by a whopping <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/live-feed\/tv-ratings-young-sheldon-returns-strong-swat-opens-well-1054651\">22.5 million viewers!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As it followed <em>The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon<\/em> retained 90% of that audience for their second episode. Overall, on Thursday, <a href=\"http:\/\/variety.com\/2017\/tv\/news\/young-sheldon-cbs-ratings-big-bang-theory-1202606357\/\">CBS won the night<\/a> with a 1.9 for adults 18-49 and just under 10 million viewers followed by ABC. \u00a0It was a successful night for CBS as their first week of programming following the end of\u00a0<em>Thursday Night Football.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Young Sheldon<\/em> already has a full order season and is tied in second with <em>The Good Doctor<\/em> for falls top rated <a href=\"http:\/\/tvline.com\/2017\/11\/03\/young-sheldon-ratings-season-1-episode-2\/\">series premier.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Show creator, Chuck Lorre has made it clear that while it is the prequel to <em>The Big Bang Theory,<\/em> they want <em>Young Sheldon<\/em> to be its own independent show.<\/p>\n<p>I am curious to see if the numbers will remain consistently high or if there will be dramatic changes for the series.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This past Thursday, Young Sheldon aired its second episode on CBS.
