After airing for six episodes, \u2018The Good Doctor\u2019 just announced a new recurring role<\/a> for the current season. \u2018Witches of East End,\u2019 \u2018Rosewood,\u2019 and \u2018Secrets & Lies\u2019 alum, Eric Winter<\/a>, will be joining the show as Dr. Matt Coyle, a young surgeon, who is charming, but brings some controversy to the hospital. This move is another young addition to the cast, and will hopefully bring in some of his previous fans. Only behind \u2018This is Us,\u2019 \u2018The Good Doctor\u2019 has garnered the highest 18-49 viewership L+7 with a 4.1 rating in Week 4<\/a> and a 3.8 rating in Week 5<\/a>, showing clear success in the money demo.<\/p>\n

\u2018The Good Doctor\u2019 did not air this week, and that helped to show its clear success. Both, NBC\u2019s \u2018The Brave\u2019 (1.0 rating) and CBS\u2019s \u2018Scorpion\u2019 (0.8 rating) averaged their usual ratings<\/a>, and the ABC special that aired instead of \u2018The Good Doctor,\u2019 \u2018Luke Brian: Living Every Day,\u2019 only averaged a 0.8 rating. This clearly shows that people might stay after watching \u2018Dancing with the Stars\u2019, but that a majority of viewers (more than half) tune in to ABC to specifically watch \u2018The Good Doctor.\u2019<\/p>\n
