The iHeartRadio Music Festival finally aired on the CW in two parts: November 22nd and November 24th at 8:00 P.M before and after Thanksgiving. The festival was to originally air October 4th and October 5th, but after October’s early shooting in Las Vegas, which is where the festival was held, it was postponed. iHeartRadio did not make an announcement of the air date until two days beforehand on November 20th. Wednesdays and especially Fridays do not get high viewership. Around the holidays get even lower viewership. The first half of the show (11/23) received a 1.23 million viewers with a .4 ratings. It had the lowest viewership and ratings at the 8:00 P.M time slot for that night compared to other networks. The 2nd half of the show (11/24) received a .86 viewership and a .8 rating. Again, it was the lowest viewership and ratings at the 8:00 P.M time slot for that night compared to other networks. In fact, The iHeartRadio Music Festival, had the the 3rd lowest viewership for CW prime time that week, just in front of Arrow and VALOR. CW tends to get lower ratings compared to other networks and the iHeartRadio Music Festival was originally set to air on a Wednesday to Thursday (but Thursday was changed to Friday because of Thanksgiving) at 8:00 P.M. However, based on the timing of iHeartRadio and no type of promoting for the event to be found, it is safe to say iHeartRadio at this point no longer wanted to wait and just get the show out there on air.
