The Muppets, which is one of the most famous children’s programs, is returning to television due to the success of the movies, “The Muppets”, which was released in 2011, and “The Muppets: Most Wanted”, which was released in 2014. The Muppets brand is one of the most famous and recognizable brands so it only makes sense that Disney would bring back the whole Muppet gang for a new show.
“The Muppets” will debut on ABC, whose parent company is Disney, on September 22nd, 2015 at 8pm and air throughout the fall. The show is directed by Randall Einhorn and written by Bob Kushell and Bill Prady. Debuting on a Tuesday night the show will have to compete against established shows, such as: America’s Got Talent and Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? The show will be filmed ‘mockumentary’ style, similar to that of Modern Family and will be a sitcom aimed at adults, as well as children.
