Young Sheldon #9

This past Thursday, Young Sheldon aired its second episode on CBS. The show received an average 2.4 rating in adults 18-49 with 13.29 viewers. The show slipped in numbers since the premier (3.8 in 18-49 and 17.28 viewers) but still remains strong. With seven day returns included in the numbers of the pilot episode, it earned an average 5.5 rating for adults 18-49 and has been watched by a whopping 22.5 million viewers!

As it followed The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon retained 90% of that audience for their second episode. Overall, on Thursday, CBS won the night with a 1.9 for adults 18-49 and just under 10 million viewers followed by ABC.  It was a successful night for CBS as their first week of programming following the end of Thursday Night Football.

Young Sheldon already has a full order season and is tied in second with The Good Doctor for falls top rated series premier.

Show creator, Chuck Lorre has made it clear that while it is the prequel to The Big Bang Theory, they want Young Sheldon to be its own independent show.

I am curious to see if the numbers will remain consistently high or if there will be dramatic changes for the series.
