TV By The Numbers has shown that the total viewership for Dynasty’s week 6 episode plummeted to 660,000 viewers. The show lost 60,000 viewers from the prior week while maintaining its 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Although Modern Family returned this week, CBS’s Seal Team took the lead with 7.17 million total viewers. TV-Aholic has stated that this week’s episode was an ultimate low for Dynasty as it is now officially ranked as the lowest show on the CW network. So, why is Dynasty’s audience continuing to decrease? According to an article by a recent critic, the remake lacks the aspects of glitz and glamour from the original series. Furthermore, many audiences have a problem with the set as the inside of the Carrington’s house is said to resemble “an impersonal country club that could be found in anywhere U.S.A”. Also, the producer’s attempt to use the characters’ wardrobe’s to appeal to audiences has been ineffective. Critics have said that, a “series about dynastic families who have extreme wealth and power deserves a more robust wardrobe allowance”. Given the fact that ratings are continuing to decrease, it seems unlikely that the producer’s will be given a bigger budget to fix these complaints from their audiences.
