Ghosted #5

On October 2nd, “AdAge” published the average prices for 30-second ads for this Fall season. “For the first time in four years, no freshman shows rank among the 10 costliest programs for advertisers,” indicating that advertisers aren’t comfortable betting on unproven projects. Ghosted is among these new offerings, averaging $125,179 per 30-second spot. That price places it squarely in the middle of direct competition on Sunday night, falling significantly below the premium NFL cost ($699,602), but ahead of To Tell the Truth and Wisdom of the Crowd. Compared to the rest of Fox’s offerings, Ghosted ranks as the 8th priciest, behind Sunday night companions Family Guy and The Simpsons.

Of course, ratings are the true barometer of success. Ghosted held steady last weekend, which would normally seem like a good sign, but with the NFL on Fox, one would expect a rating boost compared with the premiere on October 1st. The third episode airs later tonight and will be a good test to see if the show can maintain numbers without football.
