Something that has already been gaining traction in the media is that Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy split up their iconic relationship. The show is set to air one week from today so they have put a heavy focus on television and internet advertisements as well as social media marketing.

This show is a mockumentary-style sitcom that takes the viewers behind-the-scenes of Miss Piggy’s late night talk show, Up Late with Miss Piggy, and explores the personal lives of the Muppets on the set and off.

Kermit’s acts as the executive producer of Up Late with Miss Piggy. Gonzo is the head writer, and Fozzie Bear is Piggy’s on-air sidekick. Gonzo’s staff of writers include Rizzo the Rat and Pepe the King Prawn. Famed Muppets Dr. Teeth, Janice, Lips, Animal, Zoot, and Floyd Pepper make up Piggy’s on-air band, Electric Mayhem. Other recurring Muppets include The Swedish Chef and Beaker The boys are back in town!!!

The Muppets, which is one of the most famous children’s programs, is returning to television due to the success of the movies, “The Muppets”, which was released in 2011, and “The Muppets: Most Wanted”, which was released in 2014. The Muppets brand is one of the most famous and recognizable brands so it only makes sense that Disney would bring back the whole Muppet gang for a new show.

“The Muppets” will debut on ABC, whose parent company is Disney, on September 22^nd, 2015 at 8pm and air throughout the fall. The show is directed by Randall Einhorn and written by Bob Kushell and Bill Prady. Debuting on a Tuesday night the show will have to compete against established shows, such as: America’s Got Talent and Are You Smarter Than A 5^th Grader? The show will be filmed ‘mockumentary’ style, similar to that of Modern Family and will be a sitcom aimed at adults, as well as children.
