Pre Promotion Activity
This event is a prime example of convergence where we witness the trifect-ive power when a major retail brand & advertiser work closely with the broadcaster  Interested viewers can sign up for “exclusive runway content, can’t miss offers” via email. Additionally, one can also sign up online to be “reminded” of the event. Great idea to harness all of the early online buzz that drove actual leads to your site. No sense in letting potential viewers forget when to tune in. Also a great idea to leverage those online visits not just to tally the clicks but also to gain inbound data from your target audience.

Dynasty #1

Set to premiere on Wednesday October 11th at 9:00 PM on the CW network, Dynasty is expected to exceed expectations amongst old fans. After numerous attempts to recreate the original Dynasty series, CW was finally able create a successful launch. With the talented Josh Schwartz as executive producer, the show has promising results given his work on previous hits such as The O.C. and Gossip Girl. Dynasty has the bar set fairly high after the original series won the Golden Globe’s Best Television Drama Series in 1983 and scored nominations in this category 5 years in a row. However, Schwartz believes that because “we are living in an age of dynasties” there is no better timing for a remake of this series. It reveals the corrupt world of betrayal and murder by following the lives of 2 of America’s wealthiest families, The Carringtons and the Colbys, as they fight for control over their money and children. While Dynasty targets a wide age demographic including both middle-age adults who grew up being fans and teenagers watching for the first time, the outcome has potential to be an enormous success.

Kevin (Probably) Saves the World #1

Kevin (Probably) Saves The World is an upcoming drama-comedy airing on ABC. The hour long show is based around Kevin (played by Jason Ritter) who is tasked by God to help save the world.  Created by Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas, the producing duo is well known for shows such as Reaper, Agent Carter and Law & Order: SVU. The show was originally called The Gospel of Kevin, with a couple cast changes. I personally believe this is because ABC felt the original take on the show was too religious based and did not want to lose any potential viewers.

The new drama-comedy will air directly after the series premiere of ABC’s other show, The Mayor. Hopefully they have come up with a way to keep viewers to stick around for the entire hour and a half of new shows. Kevin (Probably) Saves The World airs Tuesday, October 3rd at 10pm.
